Don’t let the wet weather spoil your trip

Unfortunately, it’s not always sunshine and beach in Ibiza, occasionally the wet weather approaches to spoil the fun. It might feel like you’re holiday has been put on hold but we’ve compiled a list of activities to keep the party going.

Firstly, as a heads-up, the Met Office reports that the hottest times to visit Ibiza are between July and August and the wet season tends to be September. The Autumn season is said even to see extremes such as heavy rainfall, thunderstorms and hail storms due to the extended drought in summer. So, ultimately, go to Ibiza in the centre of its hot raving season.

Relax at a spa

Treat your mind, body and hangover with a peaceful spa day. Indulge in a massage or even pamper yourself with some beauty treatments so that you’ll feel right as rain as soon as the bad weather passes. Some places to check out include Open Spa, Aguas de Ibiza Revival Spa, La Posidonia & Cascadas Suspendidas Spa and Hacienda Na Xamena Spa.

Check out a museum or art gallery

An educational day out might not have been on your Ibiza bucket list however, you might be surprised by how much of the island is filled with history and stunning artwork. Some of these spots include the gallery in Old Town Ibiza, Museo de arte Contemporaneo de Ibiza, a lighthouse set in an uninhabited area of the island named Far de ses Coves Blanques, archaeological site Puig des Molins and the historic Museo Puget in Dalt Villa.

Escape room

After feeling desperate to escape your hotel on top of escaping the rain, why don’t you try a mind-boggling escape room? Ibiza holds a single escape room on the island however this very one includes a range of themes from Wonderland to Zombie Apocalypse. Named Aventura | Scapart Escape Room, this group puzzle can make you completely forget about the outside world.

Wine tasting

Get a lil’ tipsy with some wine tasting. Not all wine-tasting experiences are in a vineyard, and Ibiza has plenty of indoor options to transform you into a wine connoisseur. Dig deep into the cellars of the well-loved Ibizkus Wines or take a trip north of the island to the small family-run Can Maymó Winery.

Explore the caves
Immerse yourself in nature by exploring the centuries-old caves of Can Marça. Once a place smuggler’s refuge, it is now a stunning spectacle with underground pools of water, huge stalagmites and even waterfalls.

Watch a movie
Ibiza has two cinemas, one in Sant Antonio and the other in Santa Eulària. The latter is Teatro España, which frequently shows films in English but is also a space to catch a play or concerts. On the other hand, Cine Regio shows classic films every Tuesday and is kitted out with red velvet seats and popcorn for that complete cinema experience.

Shelter from the rain inside this ‘50s American-styled diner-meets-bowling alley in Playa D’en Bossa. Friend’s Kitchen Ibiza is the perfect place to distract yourself from the bad weather. With a range of cocktails, food, bowling and other arcade games, you could spend hours here.

Go to the aquarium
The beach might not be the place to go to in the rain but get a sense of the sea inside Ibiza’s Aquarium Cap Blanc. Located inside a natural cave, the aquarium is filled with Mediterranean wildlife. And with adult tickets just €7, it’s cheaper than a bottle of water on the island.

Go clubbing
Whatever the weather you can always find a rave in Ibiza. Clubs such as Hï, Amnesia, Pacha and many others are still packed out until the early hours. So why not leave the rain outside and jump onto the dancefloor?

Stock up on supplies
And if you really don’t want to leave bring the clubbing experience to your doorstep. Just one quick trip to your nearest supermarket to stock up on supplies, and boom, you’ve got everything you need to pass the wet weather. But obviously, be respectful to your Airbnb host and neighbours.
